The structure of satellite antenna is increasingly faced to the requirement of enlargement, which is contradict to the effective transportation capacity. The solution is to use a variety of space deployable structures. Lot's of research has been launched and many successes have been made in many countries, Various forms of antenna structures have been used, such as Wrapped Rib Antenna (WRA), Radial Rib Antenna (RRA), Hoop Column Deployable Antenna (UCDA), Truss Modular Deployable Antenna (TMDA). Recently, a newly researched structure form called Hoop Truss Deployable Antenna (HTDA) can be deployed 150? meter梐perture. Research in large satellite antenna technology has been undertaken in many research organization and universities domestic,allly. Their solution is focused on Radial Rib Antenna, Truss Modular Deployable Antenna, and has not reached a whole antenna structure. This paper objected in HTDA and aimed with the fulfillment of the design of prototype of HTDA. Meanwhile, it抯 expected to explore a new and available large satellite antenna structure through the process of the research. Jn~this paper, the structural organization and the working theory of HTDA are descried in detail. The modular analysis calculation of the whole structure is subjected to the criteria of stiffness conditions; the definition of the structural variables depended on the calculation results. The paper emphasizes on the research of the truss structure, the truss modular, and the space joints. The whole variable structure design and engineering drawing of the prototype are realized through the use of CAD platform and the simulation of the process of deployment and retraction is fulfilledwith the virtual prototype. Meanwhile the reliability analysis of deployable structure is also described in this paper. Through the research, the HTDA, with its simple structure and distinct working theoryr is the ideal structural form of large satellite antenna at present.
