With the rapid development of the economy, we have been in information age. The development of computer technology, the telecommunication technology and the automobile market bring tremendous chance and challenge. With the scope of the automobile market become lager, the service of locating, guarding against theft, monitoring and management will have a good prospect. In order to manage and monitor the automobile in an effective way, many advanced information technology have been introduced into this industry recently, and it will be the trend of the orientation of the development in this industry.Vehicle Intelligent System is an integrative system which is based on geographic information system, space positioning technology and mobile communication technology. With the rapid development of society, the vehicle intelligent system is updating constantly. The vehicle intelligent system based on GPS/GPRS/GIS is one that uses GPS as the positioning means of target, GIS system as the information platform, and GPRS technology as data transmission means.The thesis has studied the design of software of Vehicle Intelligent System'monitoring center at server terminal which is based on GPS,GPRS and GIS.GIS system is designed in the Visual Studio environment with MapXtreme.The human-computer interface is designed by VC++,it also studied an JAVA new IO correspondence mechanism which used to provide reliable and fast non-blocking connection to the numerous terminals.The database has been realized on Oracle system. It is designed from three aspects:requirment analysis, database modelling and relization. The testing result of software indicates that the software of monitoring center at server terminal is powerful in human-machine interaction and easy to realize real-time locating, real-time query, managing and is of large database capacity. The communication network is reliable and the data trasmission is very convenient. It also has some patulous function.
