A brief introduction of beam quality evaluation method and a detailed description of the influence of the beam's quality on the coupling efficiency are given in this paper.It also analyses the conditions of fiber coupling and the factors which influence fiber coupling efficiency. Definitive solid lasers will output different quality of laser according to the change of the draw power. When the variable quality laser beam passes through the coupling focusing system, the axial position of the focus point will change correspondingly. Based on this work characteristic, an adaptive fiber coupling and a collimated output device are provided in this paper, which not only solves the problems of the fiber coupling of variable quality beam and the adaptation of device, but also get the highest optical fiber coupling efficiency with the minimum lost of the quality of the beam. The overall scheme and each unit are also designed in this paper.According to the results of the experiment of the coupling system is the nominal power of the adaptive fiber coupling system almost the same with the system which is adjusted by hanel.
