Pipeline has become the main way of transportation transport relate to oil, gas and other energy. In order to ensure the safe operation of pipeline service, we should carry out regular testing, timely identify problems and take measures. Ultrasonic guided wave testing, based on the advantages of fast, reliable, economic and not required strip pipeline skins, become a new star of pipeline defect detection technologies. In order to meet the growning demand in this area, this paper design an ultrasonic inspection device for submarine pipline. The main intention of this paper is to accomplish the design of hardware system and data processing system. The design of hardware system including:1.Choosing the ultrasonic probe. Based on the inside diameter, thickness and medium of pipline, choos the parameter of ultrasonic probes through the scientific selection principles and fix them on the inspection device rationally.2.Based on the working frequency and working voltage of ultrasonic probe,we deign a driving circuit for the ultrasonic probe.3. In order to accurately locate the detection device, we deign a positioning system which is used to get the exact location information of detection device.4.The Analog signals from ultrasonic probe and positioning system are collected and stored into computer by the data acquisition card. The design of data processing system including:1.Noise processing of the Ultrasound data. Only noise is removed from the Ultrasound data, the true Signal feature can be got.2.The design of Data Analysis Software. It is used to analysis and process the raw data and calculate the residual wall thickness.A lot of experiments prove that the inspection device can distinguish the pipline defects.
