In recent years, with the devolopment of information technology and digital information, people make much higher demands towards stability issues. Some defects are set in traditional identification. Firstly, with the advance in information technology, the code technique has not stop hackers from invading computers in safety fields concerning national secrets and personal secrets. Secondly, with the development of high technology, especially that of telecommunication technology, how to improve the safety of personal identification is regarded as a current task for us. And the current biometric identification technology can solve these problems. Generally speaking, biometric identification technology refers to a technology based on the human body's own biological identity. Specifically speaking, biometrics, different from traditional identification, is the product of human body characteristics combined with the devolopment of high-tech information in which computer is essential.Biometrics accomplishes its identification by means of people's biological features such as hand, fingerprint, face, iris, retina, pulse, or behavior characteristics such as signature, sounds, etc. It is characterised by computer vision, image processing, pattern recognition, visualization, multi-sensor technology, intelligent robot perceptual system and other related research. Because the skull is inside the body with stable features. As opposed to fingerprint and face recognition system, it has greater stability, because the characteristics of each person's skull is not exactly same. So far, we have not found that two persons have exactly the same skull. For adults, the skull of the general characteristics would not change and the characteristics based on skull have many advantages. A biometric based on the skull of technology is proposed in this paper. The main research work can be divided into the following steps.Firstly, in the early days we collect a large number of biometric access and domestic and international trends, so we have a better understanding of the skull recognition of present and future. Through analysis and in-depth exploration, the author leads to the purpose and significance of the skull identified in this article as well as the feasibility of skull recognition.Secondly, we have introduced the details of the skull image preprocessing methods and steps. The main purpose of image preprocessing is to filter out the noise. We introduces two filtering methods:one is the median filter, and another is a filter of the average neighborhood. Then the paper introduces several parts of the image segmentation,which is mainly based on the edge of the segmentation and region segmentation. Finally, the author comprises the image interpolation, the key point of three-dimensional reconstruction and better reproduction of the model; it is very necessary because the images we get are limited.Thirdly, we introduce two three-dimensional image reconstruction methods. Three-dimensional reconstruction algorithm can be divided into surface rendering method and volume rendering method. And we analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of both of them. The difference lies in the necessityof surface rendering to construct an intermediate geometric cell. In this paper, surface rendering is adopted in three-dimensional reconstruction of the skull image, because our aim is to obtain three-dimensional geometric data, while the internal structure of the skull is ignored in research.Then, an overview of the purpose and significance about feature extraction is included in this paper. Furthermore, we use the principal component analysis to extract important features in the geometry information for feature extraction.Finally, we choose a suitable classification and recognition method to analyze the characteristics of the skull, and then to identify human characteristics.In the course of the research, we also analyzes and discusses feature recognition of the skull experiental results. The results show that the skull biometric recognition is new innovation.
