Portable satellite communications earth station is portable ultra-small aperture satellitecommunication earth stations, which communicate with satellites by geosynchronous orbit satellitecommunication links to form networks for multimedia communication services such as data, audioand video, and WAN access. Portable satellite communications earth station is a significant meansfor remote data transmission, video broadcasting and remote dispatching of the accident scene.The principle of the tracking satellites for portable satellite communications earth station is suchthat the beacon signal by synchronous satellite sent or the broadband signal by satellite transmittedis captured by the satellite signal receiver, down-converted, detected out by the signal processingunit as to the DC voltage proportional and then sent to servo control system. Thereby the satellitetracking is completed. The districts of portable satellite communications earth station serves for areoften relatively poor, thus, it is essential to have high reliability of the equipment requirements.However, the current domestic and international satellite communications earth stations studiesfocuses on how to improve and enhance the tracking technology optimization and system structuredesign, the reliability of the equipment has not yet researched at present.The article of portable satellite communication earth station equipment, on the basis of years'research results of the portable satellite earth stations, focuses on improving the reliability ofequipment. The article works on system-level reliability analysis and design for portable satellitecommunication earth station equipment, with the method used referring to electronic equipmentreliability. The main contents of the thesis include reliability prediction, reliability allocation, andfault tree analysis and reliability design for the portable satellite communication earth stationequipment.
