In order to simplify the network structure and improve network reliability, network device virtualization technology arised at the historic moment. However, with the exchange network face more and more high demands, its reliability, availability, manageability are facing the increasingly high challenge. The traditional virtualization technology is hard to meet the requirements of current high-performance exchange network. So researching a new type of virtualization technology to change the status is imperative. The paper mainly studies the realization of several device virtualization technology, analyzes and compares them, and expounds their own advantages and disadvantages. And on this basis, proposes the new type of virtualization technology which called Intelligent Resilient Framework. The central idea of this new technology is linking multiple network devices through physical ports, and virtual them into a "distributed equipment" after some necessary configurations. In addition, on the basis of theoretical research, designs the system of Intelligent Resilient Framework, and tests it with test tools, such as Ethereal and universal test platform. Results show that this system can not only satisfies the design requirements and runs stably, but also achieves the desired function, and improves the network reliability. The stack technology of Intelligent Resilient Framework describes in this paper can improve the shortcomings of other virtualization technologies, and realizes new functions on this basis. This technology greatly improves the problems the current network facing, such as poor performance of network convergence, trifles of management, and high cost of upgrade.
