With a mission of enriching the academic knowledge, archives information exchange, basing on modern communication theory, exercises the right of academic discourse, seeks the reasonable position of the island chain of social information and promotes the tension and effectiveness of the communication system, which lays the theoretical foundation of the information exchange system. Currently, the archives information exchange is facing on a greater public relation crisis, namely, the lack of original communication theory and communication practice, the marginalization of the archives information exchange, and the need of reasonable and effective communication ideas and patterns. As is said by Hu Hongjie, the chief editor of the Chinese people's university "Newsletter Archives" magazine, "nowadays the archival has little clear understanding of Chinese archival science and its basic position in the field of science and its corresponding functions, lacks for the way of making Chinese archival merge into the management science reasonably.'From a comprehensive view, both theoretically and practically, this paper focuses on the discussion of changing the blind obedience of the Chinese archival science and achieving the self discipline of it. This paper is divides into four parts.Firstly, the related concepts of archives information exchange. This part segments several confusing words and then re-defines and explains the archives information exchange, which it is the whole information transmission process that the archive information starts from itself, by the information carrier, through the information channel, to the final user, and then is fed back to the source of archive information.Secondly, the deconstructions of the model of archives information exchange. This part explains the two-way linear model of archives information exchange in a specific way. It includes five elements:the source of archives information, archives information disseminators, the archives exchange of information media, the audience of archives information, the effects of archive information exchange and the feedback. The analysis for the archives information exchange model reveals the relations among various elements of the archives information exchange, and clears the structure and process of archives information exchange, and obtains a macro grasp of archives information exchange.Thirdly, the ways of archive information exchange and its process control. This part analyzes the mass communication, the museum communication and cross-border communication. The mass communication is the basic channel of social communication. The museum exchange is the best way to share the archives information. The cross-border exchange is trend of development of archives information exchange.Fourthly, the problems of archives information exchange and their corresponding solutions. Only by clearing up the problems, can the archives information be taken highly advantage of, and truly achieve resources sharing. This paper has an innovative discussion about archives information exchange in two ways by analogy, data analysis, and concludes the writer's own viewpoints and demonstrates the general theory of archives information exchange. The traditional model simply distinguishes archives information exchange into formal and informal communication, and defines it as the latter. Such definition has little meaning in practice. This paper has solved the problem of model construction of archives information exchange by introducing the common model of communication theory, and introduces the two-way linear model. But it cannot be perfect.
