Along with the coming of new media age, TV industry in China has achieved great achievements in increasing the number of channels, improving program quality, diversifying program form and content, and developing professional channels. At the meanwhile, the relationship between media and target audience has presented some interesting characteristics which we didn't see before. In order to reach more audience, specialists in this industry have been pushed to think more and create more. Thus, a call for improvement of program editing is gradually becoming important. However, the TV industry in China is still in the process of developing, facing problems such as similar positioning of channels and lack of planning, which to some extent hold the whole industry back.Russia, as our neighbor country, has experienced several times of communication industry reform during the past 20 years, and gradually developed its own programming style. According to the comparison of programming between Channel 1 Russia and CCTV-1, this article is focusing on the advantages and disadvantages of Russian TV programming, trying to propose positive suggestions to TV programming strategy in China.
