With easy operation on equipments, short outspread time and highly sensitive monitor, Thin-Layer Chromatography (TLC) is often used as rapid component separation and quantitative analysis method. In the petroleum chemical industry, the component separation of crude oil and organic extraction are essential steps on the chromatograph analysis. As a result of influences of many factors in practical application, the final appraisal effect is undesirable. Besides, the traditional TLC which depends on human vision can only carry out semi-quantitative analysis, and consequently bring tedious operation and many errors.Digital image processing technology can improve TLC quantitative analysis. In Recent years, with the manual operation to carry on the baseline correction, the existing TLC software causes low reproduction quality and integral accuracy. How to obtain the high qualified TLC image and improve the precision of quantitative analysis has become a key issue. With digital image processing technology, the thesis realized the elimination of image background, noise and distortion to improve TLC image quality. Transform TLC image to two-dimensional curves or three dimensional surfaces, and then use the second generation wavelet transform method to realize two-dimensional TLC image denoising and baseline correction. The experimental results indicated that the second generation wavelet transformation can process the nonstable TLC atlas signal effectively. Thin layer chromatograph optical density method establishes the relations between optical density and spot volume and accordingly calculates the percentage of various components. Expand TLC two-dimensional atlas to three-dimensional space, take the migration length, thin plywood width and light density value as the X, Y, Z coordinate axis respectively, the thesis realized the thin layer chromatograph image three-dimensional display using VC and the MATLAB mix programming. Utilize surface fitting and three-dimensional space surface graph double integral to calculate various components the content and increase the crude oil component content quantitative evaluation precision. This thesis's analysis on two-dimensional and three dimensional TLC image can make an example on other genealogy quantitative analysis provides such as HPLC (highly effective liquid chromatography). The image processing such as noise reduction has provided useful methods which have widespread application prospect and popularizing value.
