Tianyige History Files And Historical Development

Tianyi Pavilion in Ningbo, which is called "Book City of the South", is the earliest individual existing library in China and is also one of the three earliest nongovernmental libraries of the world.In the past years, studies on Tianyi Pavilion mainly focus on the idea of books collection, propagating the traditional culture and promoting the development of Chinese books collection culture. But a large number of ancient books in Tianyi Pavilion are labeled as rare historical archives and materials because they are original recordings. So the ancient books and historical archives in Tianyi Pavilion have general character in aspects of storage, protection, exploitation and utilization, etc. In this dissertation, based on the studies previously, historical archives and materials in Tianyi Pavilion are both chose as the study object in order to explore characteristics and values of the two, to analyze the practical significance just like "make the past serve the present" and storage for using, to investigate the present situations of the two and to draw conclusion. In the paper, author expects to provide viewpoints for extensive efforts of historical archives and materials in Tianyi Pavilion, and references for both archival managements and scholarly pursuits.This dissertation focuses on analyzing some problems that affect exploitation and utilization of historical archives and materials in Tianyi Pavilion, having the preliminary study on taking some countermeasures, which is directed by Marxism historical materialism and utilizes the perspectives of comprehensiveness, history and development with the methods of document research, contrast study and systematic study. This dissertation concludes four major parts.Introduction:This part illuminates basic knowledge of ancient books and archives and shows clearly the relation between the two. There is a interpretation that a large number of ancient books are labeled as historical archives and materials because they are original recordings. Then the significance of the study on exploitation and utilization of the ancient books and archives in Tianyi Pavilion are summarized. Chapter I:the historical archives and materials in Tianyi PavilionThis part gives introductions of specific contents and storage features based on collection of works in Tianyi Pavilion include historical archives and materials. Then characteristics and values of the historical archives and materials in Tianyi Pavilion are summarized.ChapterⅡ:necessities and feasibilities for exploitation and utilization of the historical archives and materials in Tianyi PavilionThis part explains necessities from the aspects of storage for using, management, exploiting and utilizing resources of the historical archives and materials in Tianyi Pavilion. It also analyzes feasibilities from the perspectives of manpower, technology, material and financial resources.ChapterⅢ:successful experiences and defects for exploitation and utilization of the historical archives and materials in Tianyi PavilionThis part introduces some new successful experiences of exploitation and utilization of the historical archives and materials in Tianyi Pavilion. It also points out that a few defects presented in the exploitation and utilization nowadays.ChapterⅣ:reflections on exploitation and utilization of the historical archives and materials in Tianyi PavilionIn this part, with.consideration of the above defects presented in the exploitation and utilization, several corresponding countermeasures are put forward in respect of editing and research, publications, exhibitions, multimedia presentations of the historical archives and materials in Tianyi Pavilion.Conclusion:This part is the conclusion of the main parts in dissertation. And the development prospect for protection and utilization of the historical archives and materials in Tianyi Pavilion is presented.
