With the rapid development of computer technology, commercial and practical motion capture equipment has been appeared. Therefore, three-dimensional computer animation based on the human motion capture, has become a hot research issue in both computer animation and computer graphics fields. With the establishment of the large-scale three-dimensional human motion capture databases, researchers focus on two problems, one is the analysis, management and reuse of the existing three-dimensional human motion capture data, the other is application of new technologies in automatic and intelligent 3D Human Animation.This thesis elaborated a comprehensive survey on state of the current data-driven character animation techniques. In order to show advantages and disadvantages of techniques, the motion editing techniques are analyzed and compared focused on the following issues:1. According to the definition of Quaternion and Euler angle and Quaternion's attributes, the conversion relationship of Euler angle and Quaternion is analyzed, and three aspects were discussed in detail including motion data structure, human skeleton relationship and data-driven human animation.2. According to capture data, original three-dimensional human motion capture data is classified, motion path and motion constraints are abstracted, motion data is distincted into inflexible and flexible region, and connected the inflexible and flexible region,a method is given for connecting the inflexible and flexible region.3. Blending strategy of logically similar motion is presented and tested , new motion are formed through some processes which are time warping, coordinate aligning, position integrating and constraints matching. Experimental results can be applied to the motion blending and transition related with the path fitting.4. A human motion editing experiment is designed based on path transitions, motion states are constructed based on the edited paths abstracting from motion data. Motion blending and constraint matching could ensure smooth motion states. Through analyzing experimental results, a human motion generation module is designed combining with the actual project.According to the project, designed the motion path of operator in the virtual scene, altered a previously captured motion to a different path based on path-driven motion editing, transited the motion clips smoothly by the motion blending algorithm and constraint matching algorithm, and finally synthesized a motion sequence. Experimental results show a good visual effect.
