With China Telecom IP process progresses, long-distance transmission system in the 80*10G DWDM (wavelength division multiplexing) system has been widely used in the circumstances, there is still the backbone IP router from the data bandwidth of ECMP enough pressure to China Telecom Fujian Telecom Company and subsidiaries in the past two years to deploy 80*40G WDM system.This article focuses on 80*40G WDM system characteristics, and 10G WDM system design, maintenance of the main differences,40G system is mainly limited by factors including:CD (chromatic dispersion), PMD (Polarization Mode Dispersion), OSNR (optical signal to noise ratio), nonlinear effects and the corresponding solutions, the main test and maintain the special concerns of indicators, focusing on the relevant characteristics, test methods, maintenance points, the last paper also gives the cable fault, cut then such circumstances, how the system selection and implementation of alternate cable OLP test situation light automatic protection, rapid recovery system.
