TD-SCDMA, as a 3G mode whose intellectual property rights are self owned by China, is a symbol of growing up of the telecommunication industry of Chinese nation. Therefore the government attached high importance to it and started to arrange evaluation since 2006. In 2007, China Mobile was chosen by government as the only TD-SCDMA operator to construct the network. The networks of 10 Olympic cities were planned and designed first. And the year 2007 was also called the first year of Chinese 3G. However all the networks were just in a trial in 2007. Software emulating and validating test for TD-SCDMA trail network makes a solid foundation for the future construction of commercial network.Software emulating and validating test mentioned in this paper refers to by entering parameters of transmission module, emulating report can be output after the data analysis and calculation by software. Then network performance can be prejudged to verify the accurate of the network designing solution and make an adjustment.On the basis of introducing the environment of TD industry and key techniques of TD-SCDMA, this paper tells the necessity of TD network construction. By analyzing network interface, protocol and related basic data, it makes the requirement analysis and system design of the network, including the design for neighbor cell, frequency, code resource, base station, OMCR and coverage solutions in various scenario. After introducing the emulating tool, parameters and principle, it further shows how to make a contrast test by emulating tool to verify the correctness of above solutions and the design of the system.The production of the paper lies in by requirement analysis, network emulating flow and test methods are designed to verify network performance. According to the emulation result, network solution can be modified in time to meet the requirement of the network construction for the network performance such as coverage and so on.
