As a non-contact automatic identification technology, radio frequency identification (RFID) technology has seen growing interest from a wide range of industries from the beginning of this century. The RFID technology has been gradually carried out in all areas of people live and works, such as identification, retail, cargo tracking, and many other fields. More and more new applications are still being evolved; the research as a new exploration in this paper focuses on RFID applications in the field of financial instruments. In this paper, a financial ticket management system which is based on RFID technology and multi-level security architecture on the basis of different scenarios and different conditions of the financial security needs have been proposed.As RFID technology faces a variety of security risks, including the tracking, eavesdropping, unauthorized access, data interpretation, doc attack, replay, etc, we analyzed the pros and cons of several popular security protocols. Considering the security needs and cost, the use of RFID technology in the field of financial ticket has been divided into high, medium and low security levels. In this paper, each level of security technical requirements has been given and an efficient and automatic financial tickets management system has been designed to solve the production, transportation, sale, security and other management issues.According to the medium level of security needs, a new RFID mutual authentication protocol has been proposed. This protocol uses the Pseudo-random number generation function in Writer/Reader device instead of in tags. The new security protocol focuses on high-capacity but low-cost tags and possesses forward security ability. It can defeat location privacy attack, relay attack, eavesdropping attack and also can protect data from being falsifying. The new scheme effectively solves problems of RFID security and privacy with lower complexity of hardware, so it is useful for low cost RFID tags.
