Taking Beijing as an example, this study investigated the attitudes of pupils, parents, teachers and related education authorities on Wushu to provide theoretical basis, correlative countermeasures and concrete measures for the promotion of Wushu in Beijing primary schools and the development of Wushu all over the world. The concept of Wushu in this study refers to Wushu courses, Wushu exercise in spare time and Chinese traditional culthure behind Wushu.Beijing, the capital of China, is the centre of politics, economy, culture, scientific research, education, international communication and transportation. Therefore, taking Beijing as the example is meaningful and typical.The methods of literature review, questionnaire, experts interview, mathematical statistics and logical analyses are applied in this study.62teachers,305parents and559pupils from15primary school of Beijing were studied through questionnaire and interview. Through the analysis of statistics, conclusions are drawn as follows:1.The lack of Wushu teachers in Beijing primary schools influenced the promotion and quality of Wushu courses; Wushu ground, instruments and clothing are also in shortage; content and teaching methods of Wushu courses are gradually becoming more useful and interesting; Wushu extracurricular activities and competitions are increasing;2. films, television programs, novels and websites are the main ways for pupils to learn about Wushu; pupils like Wushu but they don't have a clear understanding of it; sex doesn't influence the attitude; those who had Wushu classes before have clearer understanding of Wushu and had more active attitude on Wushu than those who hadn' t;3. teachers and related education authorities like Wushu subjectively and wupport the set-up of Wushu courses; Wushu courses were reatricted by objective factors as teachers, hardware facilities, personnel system, security etc.4. Parents support the set-up of Wushu courses; films, television programs, novels and websites are the main ways for parents to learn about Wushu they don' t have a clear understanding of it; parents recognize the function of attack and defence in Wushu but it is difficult for them to tell the difference between Wushu and martial arts skills;5. The influencing factors of the attitude of Beijing pupils on Wushu are complex and diverse and the influence degree has been ranked as:pupils own factor, teaching factor, school environmental factor, family environmental factor, social factor etc.
