In China gratefulness is one of the traditional virtues and therefore the most fundamental moral trait for university students. However, with the abundance of material, a part of university students are lacking their sense of thanksgiving, even appear the phenomenon of the sense of gratefulness's missing.They become less responsible and sympathetic, ignoring families'affection, friends'accompaniment and society's attention. The integrated development of the university students must be affected if the rampancy of these kinds of mores is left as it is. Gratefulness education, as a method of affective education directing at arousing the emotions, has already became an important approach for university students to possess the moral trait. Consequently, the university students'gratefulness education is, not only to the development of their own but also to the moral education in universities, of considerable significance.This essay, combined with correlative theories of ideological and political education, aims at the problems confronted by the contemporary university students in thanksgiving education. Also it analyzes the reasons of problems from the perspective of society, university and family, and tentatively demonstrates the concrete methods in terms of the subject, annulus and object of the gratefulness education of university students. Finally, the sense of gratefulness will be heightened and some experience for the moral and educational work will be provided.
