Since the Reform and Opening-up policy, teaching materials for high school political course have experienced five changes. With the reform, teaching cares more about students, changing from knowledge to stress on the combination of ability and personality development. Besides, it emphasizes the spirits of innovation and the cultivation of ability, bringing the course back to real life. However, some problems are arising. On the one hand, the frequent changes easily lead to the lowering of reliability as well as loss of efficiency. On the other hand, more stress on the personality instead of the social function may weaken the teaching of the core belief, even shaking students'belief in science. Moreover, the tendency to deviate from the ideal belief in teaching during the course of"out of life"–"back to life"—"overdo life"arises.Concerning the future development of teaching materials, as for myself, the most important one is to carry out"double track"system. That is to say, the teaching materials should show the reality and times as well as improving the credibility. For another part, we should combine the characteristics and social functions together in the teaching materials, especially the idea of people-orientation. Above all, we should stick to the Marxism in the construction of teaching materials. Last but not the least, aimed at combing scientific world and real-life world, the relations between science and life should be dealt with properly.
