An Investigation And Research Into The State And Development Of Optional Public Sports Courses In Jiangsu University

The reform of physical education in university should be people-oriented ,emphasizing on the personal development of each student and the requirement of adapting to the change of situation ,and be life-long education .To achieve this goal,physical education should develop to meet the physical and mental needs of students,to stimulate students'interest and cultivate the exercise habit. The physical elective course can cater to various needs of college students ,and promote the realization of aims in the National ordinary university physical education curriculum teaching guidelines.Due to many factors ,although effective in some degree,there are some problems during the implement of physical elective course in Jiangsu university ,which influence the quality of it.By methods of documentation, questionnaire survey, experts investigation and mathematical statistic analysis, this article researches and analyzes the extant problems and the current situation of physical elective course in Jiangsu University deeply, aiming to serve as theory judgment and helpful experience for the reform of college physical course and sustainable development of physical elective course in Jiangsu University ,and to find out primary factor that influence physical elective course in Jiangsu university . With thorough investigation and analysis, the article finally reaches the conclusion:1.The physical elective course in Jiangsu University show very positive and beneficial effect during the development in the last few years, while there are still unsolved problems that need improving and developing.2.with the increase of student number and the greater need for newly developing physical project ,the teaching resources in Jiangsu university start to be relatively scarce ,which influence the students'exercise and routine teaching course in some degree.3.The internet course-selecting system for students is far from perfect .Moreover, the setting and arrangement of course is not reasonable enough .There is large room to improve. 4.The present organization of physical elective course in Jiangsu University is elementarily effective. But some particular courses can be taken in a new way: teaching schoolboys and schoolgirls in the merged class; as for teaching method, the application of stratified teaching method should be taken for the obvious reason that different students'physical quality and sport skill are various.5.part of students'motivation for choosing courses is partial, lacking of the instruction and guide from school. Those students'reasons to choose courses are always that the course is fashionable, easy to pass or just conformity and random.6.the teaching model"interrogation in or out of the class"in Jiangsu university has made great progress so far. But there are still many students lacks of right concept of extracurricular exercise .Therefore education of life-long physical exercise and related institution should be emphasized .7.At present time, in Jiangsu university ,we evaluate students in four main aspects :sports skill, extracurricular exercise, performance in class ,physical quality , which is a little bit different from the requirement in National ordinary university physical education curriculum teaching guidelines. So it is necessary to construct a more scientific and reasonable evaluating system and standard.Finally, this article put forward reasonable particular detailed strategy for the sustainable development of physical elective course in Jiangsu University aiming at extant problems and the current situation of physical elective course. First we should establish the instructing principal"health first"and construct"people-oriented"curriculum system .second, improvement of the teaching resource should be done as soon as possible. Thirdly, put emphasis on teaching management and reasonable arrangement of teaching content .fourthly, university should reform the teaching method of physical elective course, and develop teaching model"interrogation in or out of the class"further .the last but not least one ,a new scientific evaluation system should be constructed.
