In history classroom instruction, the method of lecture is for history teachers to teach students knowledge, to develop students'abilities and scientific values and value of life by using simple and vivid oral words. With the new round basic education curriculum reform, despite the method of lecture is still the basic method in the history classroom instruction in junior high schools, this method has been questioned and challenged. Therefore, we urgently need to improve the traditional method of lecture and enhance the effectiveness of the using of this method.To enhance the effectiveness of the using of the method of lecture in the history classroom instruction in junior high school is in line with the requirements of basic curriculum reform, adapts to the need of the present using situation of the method of lecture, is beneficial for the learning of history knowledge, has special meaning for training students'feelings, attitudes and values and is also a foundation for using other teaching methods effectively.To enhance the effectiveness of the using of the method of lecture in the history classroom instruction in junior high school, we should establish advanced idea and fulfill the change of our teaching idea from emphasizing the teaching of history knowledge to emphasizing the training of students'lifelong learning skills, good moral character and sound personality. Meanwhile we should change the class from teacher-centered to students-centered class. We should seriously prepare lessons and give in-depth study to the teaching materials. According to the basic requirements of the teaching objectives and the students'actual situation, we should properly identify the teaching content and organize the teaching content scientifically. We should pay attention to the second digestion of the teaching material and the link between the teaching content and students'former knowledge structure. We should properly supplement and simplify the teaching content and the content should be scientific, accurate and has ideological content. We should elaborately design the lead-in words and should not ignore the conclusion. When teaching new lessons, we should pay attention to the establishment of good circumstance and catch the valid opportunity to teach. We should stress the art of words so as to make the lecture words in line with the basic formula of friendliness, respect and appreciation, acceptability and correspondence. Meanwhile the lecture words should meet the basic demands of being systematic and strict, accurate and standard, terse and purified, simple and easy, vivid and humorous. We can improve the language skills through developing great interest in learning language, accumulating a wealth of history material, improving literary accomplishment and strengthening the training of the basic language skills. We should also pay attention to the combination with other methods and approaches.
