The educating of new teacher has become a most popular topic. Lots of countries have input some practical system to educate the new teachers. As an important and traditional way of teacher training, mentoring has been widely used in primary and secondary schools,however, according to the material which the writer had collected, the discussion on mentoring is basically experiential and fragmentary, that is to say they are not comprehensive, systematic, thorough, which lacking rational thinking and successful suggestions. In fact, plenty of"Teacher and Pupil Twinning,"programs are not so powerful, the form of it is inflexible, the content of it is relatively homogeneous and the lacking of evaluation, tend to make the mentoring of a singular formality, which not only can not promote the teacher professional developments, but also bring a lot of side-effects.This thesis will use interviews, literature research methods, case study methods to explore the need of teacher professional development , the working style of mentoring and the effects of mentoring brings to the development of teacher professional ,making a much more systematic history and theory research on mentoring based on the teacher professional development background, Providing an angle of new view for people to reflect the conception,function and improvement of mentoring is this study's main aim.This thesis will introduce the background, aim, research methods , also documents and records analysis were employed; then this study tired the development of mentoring history, and made a theoretical interpretation about teacher professional development which brought forward some transformation to mentoring on its system, implement and culture. Then this thesis discussed the problems exist in the mentoring system, the enlightenment and prospect in the following chapters, the third part mainly discuss the situation of the mentoring according to the primary school M , pointing out the necessary requirements of the implement of mentoring, the content of the implement and the final affairs of the mentoring, the fourth part discusses the enlightenment which the mentoring system bring to us, the fifth part puts forward some suggestions and the prospect of mentoring.
