In traditional society, the individual can get the sense of identity and belonging, through its role in the social order and position. With the transition from traditional to modern, all aspects of the whole society is undergoing tremendous changes. In modern society, to provide more diversified choices for people, they also have a profound uncertainty and flow characteristics, which makes it difficult to form a solid sense of belonging and identity.In this paper, under the guidance of identity theory, by putting individuals into groups for reflection, the author sets the interest-related group of DUKU readers as research object, through continuous observation and in-depth interviews to examine the identity exists in the group, attempts to find a path to identity and belonging for the modern people.The article expands discussion to the perspective of time and space. In the space level, the author not only concerned with the members of the network-based daily communication, but also track their activities in the real group through two locations of online and offline; In the time level, the author set the group events and activities as the main line, observe the formation from individuals to group, as well as the emergence, maintenance and extension of group-identity, and the presence of a series of diachronic perspective and behavior.The paper argues that group identity is a dynamic process, its formation and development deeply embedded into the group interaction. In the interest-related group of DUKU readers, leisure is the main form of interaction, the members communicate through reading and writing focused on DUKU, understand and comply with the group values, participate in group activities and to get the resonance, so as to acquire the group recognition and sense of belonging which are the basis of the formation of group-identity; Meanwhile, the group-identity is a static result, individuals get the resource for building self-identity through identifying their belonging groups. This reflective self-identification can help members determine the meaning of life, and expand this sense to their own experience, so as to get a social value of human existence.
