Thanksgiving Education For College Students

As a virtue of Chinese nation, gratitude is the root of the other excellent moralities. Improving the awareness of Thanksgiving is of great importance to develop all-around students, as well as the harmony of colleges up to the whole society. However, nowadays some students desperately lack this kind of awareness, which is not in line with the expectation of society for undergraduates, and the undergraduates'historiacal mission. Thus, the education on thankgiving becomes an important necessity.This paper starts with the general theory of Thanksgiving education. Applying the literature research methodology, questionnaire survey, comparative analysis of research methods on Thanksgiving education this paper explores the essence of Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving education, and points out the meaning of Thanksgiving education on college students. On this basis and with questionnaire, the author analysizes status of Thanksgiving education on college students in China and the reasons for it, finally offers some adviceon strengthening the education of college students Thanksgiving in hope for providing guidance for the majority of educators on education activities theoretically and practically.This paper studies the problem of college students'Thanksgiving education from four aspects.The first part is Thanksgiving and the essence of Thanksgiving education. In this part, we will clarify the basic meaning of Thanksgiving and the scientific content of Thanksgiving education as well as the specific definition,level and characteristics of the Thanksgiving education, which serve as theoretical support for the discussion in the paper.The second part is to interpret the significance of college students Thanksgiving education on the basis of the theory explained above. Thanksgiving education can be of benefit not only to all-around development of college students but also to the establishment of harmonious campus. Still, it promotes the traditional Chinese virtues. Last but not least, it will help build the harmonious society.The third part is the present situation and the causes of college students' Thanksgiving education. According to the data collected from the questionnaire, the author makes an exhaustive analysis of college student's Thanksgiving education status from the cognitive, emotional and practical aspects, and come up with the problems of Thanksgiving education, furthermore, the author analyses the causes of the problems in depth. The discussionin this part laies a logical base for the advice provided in the later part. The fourth part is about enhancing the strategic research of college students' education of appreciation. Depanding on the logical discussion in the previous part, this part puts forward some strategies and suggestions accordingly. The thesis points out that strengthening Thanksgiving Education need to establish a "Trinity" Thanksgiving education model, which contains, a unversal knowledge, a thanksgiving feeling and a practical action; and a quaternity containing student, family, school and society, to expand Thanksgiving educational carrier and enhance the effectiveness of Thanksgiving education.
