Some researches have shown that the recent condition of interpersonal communication among impoverished college students is not optimistic. Though group counseling has great efficiency and superiority on intervention of interpersonal communication, professional related references as well as studies on group counseling towards interpersonal communication among impoverished college students are so rare, which is below ten. Thus, the author chooses thirty-two impoverished students with interpersonal communication problems from a college and does a research on group counseling to them. During the process, I analyze the factors preventing impoverished college students communicating with others and the efficiency of group counseling, moreover, I probe into concrete implementing schemes of group counseling. Through the study, I try to seek the results and effective ways of group counseling in improving the recent condition of interpersonal communication among impoverished college students, in order to have a better understanding about group counseling theoretically, achieve a pertinent implementing scheme in practice, provide practical methods to improve recent condition and give some advice about group counseling in colleges. The study has adopted many research approaches such as document retrieval and analysis, questionnaires, interviews, psychological measurement and so on. On the basis of related resources, I compile some forms about the restrictive factors of interpersonal communication among impoverished college students by doing questionnaires among college students and having interviews with them. Besides this, I establish and carry out group counseling plans, and evaluate the results by means of statistical analysis as well as interviews. The results of group counseling show us:Firstly, looking through the scale of the integrative examination over interpersonal communication among impoverished college students and the scale of the interpersonal communication abilities of them, the first experimental group, the second experimental group and the control group don't have any remarkable differences on the results before group counseling. However, things are quite different after carrying out the group counseling, especially after three months. The first experimental group and the control group are rather different. So do the second experimental group and the control group. But there is no distinct difference between the first and the second experimental groups.Secondly, of the three groups, the results between the effects of before and after group counseling, together with the results between before group counseling and tracking measurement, the first and the second experimental groups have obvious differences in both of the two scales, while the control group is an exception. However, there are no notable differences in the three groups about the results between the effects of after group counseling and tracking measurement.Thirdly, variable quantities between the first and second experimental groups have no obvious differences in the two scales, considering the effects of before and after group counseling or before group counseling and tracking measurement. In addition, the questionnaires about effects on group counseling, the feelings of members in the group after having it and the evaluations of both teachers and students have also illuminated the effects. It can easily be seen from the research that:The main factors influencing interpersonal communication of college students includes the following six points:lacking of communicating sills, being bad at expressing, being sensitive and suspicious, feeling inferiority, lacking of knowledge and inhibition of personality.Group counseling has a favorable effect on improving the unsatisfied recent condition of interpersonal communication among impoverished college students. Those group counseling plans I have established and carried out in the study are quite pertinent and with their own characteristics. As a result, favorable effects are gained. The implements of group counseling for impoverished college students about their interpersonal communication by means of Homogeneous teams and Heterogeneous teams may not achieve apparently different results.
