The paper, practical study on combining film appreciation and teaching of narrative writing in junior middle school, is organized into four chapters. First one is introduction and in this chapter, the purpose, significance and current situation of this study are stated and as a key point, two concepts, that is, film appreciation and combination of film appreciation and teaching of narrative writing, are defined. The last one of the two concepts means a combination of film appreciation and four components of writing a narrative, that is, material selecting and conception conceiving, narrative structure, characterization, and language performance. Based on this, case courses of high quality can be formed and contents and methods of classroom teaching deriving from the combination of film appreciation and teaching of narrative writing can be shaped. Accordingly, the classroom teaching of composition will be optimized and the quality of composition teaching will be improved. At the end of the introduction, the methods and train of thought of this research are illustrated.The second chapter is the teaching contents and methods based on the combining of film appreciation and narrative writing. What can be chosen as the teaching contents are guidance of subject and material selection (such as, themes about family love, reminiscence, growth comprehensive and encouragement are appropriate), structure (montage combined-type and narration interspersed with flashbacks), characterization (mainly includes direction in writing a review centered on appreciation of movie characters, a description in detail, and a description of natural scene), and language performance (includes poetic, humorous and philosophical language styles). In "Basis of Chinese curriculum theory", Doctor Rongsheng Wang differentiates teaching materials into four types, that is, fixed articles, examples, samples and materials. And films are just like the four types.'Fixed articles' mean a way in which classic films are used.'Examples' are films which are regarded as teaching materials of knowledge of writing.'Samples' are used for appreciating films which are used for writing reviews. 'Materials'are used for appreciating films which are fit for improving people's literary and cultural attainment. There are three main teaching methods of combining film appreciation and narrative writing, that is, the modelof observe-think-lead-conclude-write-review', the model of 'observe-demonstrate-write-review', and the model of'observe-feel-speak'.The third chapter is the analysis of the relevant factors of improving students' writing skill. In this part, the author elaborates that the combination of film appreciation and teaching of narrative writing can open reading space, give guidance of methods and skills (it includes effectively observation, innovation and deepening of thinking, and clarification of objective of writing assignment) to students in writing effectively, and stimulate interests and create experience scene of writing.The fourth chapter is conclusions. In this chapter, the whole paper are summarized and the difficulties consist in the study are rethought profoundly.
