Research Of The Age-friendly Community Under The Background Of Aging

Under the background of global aging of the population, China has stepped in the aging society since 1999. The problem of the old-care has become an important issue that attracts common concern in China, a developing country with the largest number of old-aged people in the world. At present, the rapidness, aging and solitude of the aged has made it urgent and complex to solve this problem. With the development of the society, the requirement of the sustainable development and individual values develops with diversity and multi-layers.Meanwhile the images of the old, who used to be considered as weak people, change gradually. Being active, healthy and getting involved has become the same goals. However, Old-age care in China is behind our economic development. Problems remain to be solved including the lack of old care facilities, health care service and community constructive details, which cannot meet the living requirements of the elders. To copy with the aging of population, establishing aging-friendly communities for the old is necessary and important.The article is based on the background of the global aging of population. The author studies the current state of the aging-friendly communities in China and provides these kinds of communities for the old in China by using the concept of foreign age-friendly community. This research combines literature study and real cases survey. By analyzing three age-friendly communities' current states in Jinan, we find out that the current community hasn't met the requirements which the old wish to get. Based on the analysis of current state and necessity of these communities, we infer basic requirements and ways to improve the unkindness for the age-friendly community. In the end, from the angles of the government, society and the interior community, the author put forward some policy proposals for the development of the age-friendly communities.This article has five parts. The first section is introduction. This section includes the origin, the significance of the study, the research methods and the framework for research note. It also includes the review and the related concept of the definitions. In the second and third section, we analyze the state of the age-friendly communities in China and discuss ways and suggestions to improve these communities in China by investigating three communities in Jinan. In the forth section, we try to come up with our suggestions by analyzing all the information we get. The fifth section is the conclusion and discussion. The idea of the age-friendly communities is widely accepted by the old, but there have been no established policies about it so far in China. In the process of dealing with the aging of population in China, we need to continue working on the development of the age-friendly communities to guarantee and make the social pension system better.
