Tennis is called the second most widely practiced games. It is also the only ball event in the very first modern Olympic Games. Despite its increasing popularity among more fans and participants, tennis is a very challenging sport in terms of physical conditions. It is also a very technically demanding game.In recent years, researchers started to draw their attention to methods which help avoid injuries and enhance stamina, flexibility, agility and endurance in tennis training. Therefore, stretching is introduced into tennis training so as to improve agility and performance as well as decrease injuries.This study utilizes methods like literature query, experiment, measurement and evaluation, statistical analysis, etc. to address the lack of attention to the significance of stretching in tennis training. It is aimed to raise awareness of the crucial role of stretching in tennis training and contribute to a more standardized, scientific and systematic approach to tennis training.Research findings are as follows:(1) Male and female are different in terms of flexibility. Females excel in flexibility.(2) Stretching helps increase flexibility and thus facilitate the improvement of one's overall flexibility. It does more harm than good if you do excessive elongation which will make the muscles inflexible.(3) Bodily functions transfer and there can be homogeneous and heterogeneous.(4) Stretching accounts for an indispensable component of tennis training. It is applicable to warm-up, basic training and concluding sessions. Stretching can therefore help enhance flexibility, stamina and endurance. |
