American psychologist Benjamin Bloom points out in his Mastery Learning:"The main problem for many students who unable to get excellent scores is that they can not enjoy a proper teaching conditions and reasonable help but not because they are weak in wisdom."Nowadays, Quality-oriented Education is carried out positively.The education and management for backward student becomes more outstanding. The conversion work of the backward student will influence the outcome of education reform and quality. The ratio of rural population is high in our country, Thus how to improve rural high-school backward student's quality especially the Chemistry Course quality to let them adapt to education reform trends is what our chemistry worker facing now.In order to solve this difficulty, a completely deep investigation and study was done in this paper. This article summarizes and analyzes the history and current situation of research on the domestic and foreign backward students, discusses the causes and types of back ward students. Moreover, it makes an effective conversion against the backward student in the aspects such as learning ability, learning skills and so on. The teaching strategy of development potential diversification is worked out for the backward student who is weak on general subjects while good at a certain subject. The conversion method for some special backward student(for example, single parent, disruptive students) and the principles and strategies in teaching Chemistry was demonstrated in detail in this article. Meanwhile, the tests and explorations are done positively on the backward students by adopting "SFBT" solution.This article combines the research achievement of psychology and course teaching theory tightly, presenting the new education model of backward student conversion, studying the relative teaching cases design and practice. It provides a valuable reference to Science teachers for their teaching and a quotable guidance to the headteachers in student education.
