The People's Republic of China was founded in 1949. At that time, the borderline was about 18,000 km long, with 15 bordering countries. Many of these countries had sovereignty problems with China because of subjective and objective reasons. Subjectively, the traditional Chinese concept of territory does not attach importance to the border demarcation; objectively, as the decline of modern China's national strength, China gradually relaxed the control of border areas, so that some parts of the region departed from the jurisdiction of the government, Western powers invaded China and the unequal treaties also had to be blamed for the lost of territory. "China-Burma Border Treaty" is the first border treaty that had ever been signed at the beginning of the founding of People's Republic of China before the treaty between China and other neighboring countries. The solving of the border issue provides a good example, while China, through this case, to make peace coexistence in the international community has been widely recognized. Meanwhile, Safeguarded China's surrounding stability, the construction of the new China provides a good international environment. On the other hand, until it finally reached the border talks between China and Myanmar during the treaty, because of China's own foreign policy, Myanmar, China policy, the international situation and other factors, China ultimately made substantial concessions. This concession of Chinese border talks made China lose certain advantages aftermath in such kind of negotiation. As China grows stronger and stronger, there should be a better way to solve the boundary problems in line with China's international status. Therefore, the study of border talks between China and Myanmar will bring some enlightenment.
