New China, written by Lu Shie in 1910, is the frist scientific prediction novel of China. The adverbs in New China will besearched,described,analized,approached and categorized in this essay exhaustively,in order to Understand the Survey and grammatical characteristics of it. The paper consists of five chapters.Chapter one contains three aspects ,which introduces the research situation and technique,object and research significance.Chapter two also contains three aspects ,which discusses the definition ,distinction and classification of adverbs.Chapter three describes and analyzes the adverbs of New China exhaustively,which is the principal part of the paper.This part catches detailed statistics to study the frequency,semantic orientation and semantic point of each adverb.After it,there will be a graph to display the overview of each class of adverbs intuitively.Chapter four discusses the concurrent and company uses of adverbs in New China.This part will list all concurrent and company uses of adverbs ,then analyze the characteristics of them specifically.Chapter five is conclusion of this paper,which contains four aspects.This part summarizes the characteristics of adverbs in New China intuitively.We can find this four characteristics of adverbs in New China:complete system of adverbs,stable grammatical function,many concurrent and company uses ,the mixed using of Classical and vernacular adverbs.
