This thesis focuses on the worship of God Kui-Xing in imperial examinations,which is a culture phenomenon comes from the combination of imperial examinationsand folk belief. This worship originates from the word of "Kui" which means firstly,this meaning reacts with imperial examination in Song dynasty and helps finallyforming and materializing the spiritual aspect of the worship of God Kui-Xing. Thisworship, after it has been built, relates to imperial examinations and educationalsituations in Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing dynasty intimately, and displayed by such astemple, image of the god, sacrifice ceremony, legend in different periods. Indicate fromquantized analysis, even though the worship of God Kui-Xing is varying in differentperiods, it has been affected greatly by local literary phenomenon, because GodKui-Xing is invented deliberately and adored by literati. In addition, it is popular amonggovernment, local power and public. Result from being support from enormous adorers,it has been lasting until now. God Kui-Xing also has been affected by Buddhism,Taoism and Confucianism, however, this topic should be discussed in Chinese people'sspiritual world. God Kui-Xing has been accepted by Confucianism in some degree dueto they are both relevant to imperial examination. It has been misunderstood andignorance greatly by Taoism although Taoism obtains a kind of mild attitude. Compareto Confucianism and Taoism, God Kui-Xing has great and original relation with GodWen-Chang which is another popular imperial examination god, they enrich, conflictand compromise mutually, their relation has been enriched by diversity of explanationfrom different adorer.
