Taken as one of the greatest 19th century Russian artists and writers, Levitan and Chekhov both possessed compatible interpersonal communication and emotional relationships in common. In the view of creative thinking and aesthetic ambition concept, they, separately, created two types of expression, i.e., "Levitan's nature" and "Chekhov-style description". Particularly in various stages of their own creation of art and literature processes, they were influenced by European "realism". That is, full description of the objects in real life, the use of art of deep thinking, sincere feelings, and highly personal artistic language, have helped achieve a perfect fusion of both natural look and personality in the spirit world, with a critical, objective perspective to reflect the real life.This paper is on the basis of the domestic and abroad studies. Through analysis of the personal lives of Levitan and Chekhov, their backgrounds, close relationships, landscape descriptions, and influences, the creation of their experiences, themes, ideas, concepts, and mental conditions were comprehensively sorted out and in-depth investigated. This would provide clear views on Levitan and Chekhov's description of the scenery in common and their influences on the literature, art, and social humanities of the world. The purpose of this paper is also targeted to provide more documentary materials for domestic and foreign scholars'researches on Levitan and Chekhov, as well as for landscape descriptions, so as to further compensate the lack in above area. Also, this would strengthen the understanding and mastering on Levitan and Chekhov and their art of landscape descriptions.
