In the second language teaching, it's not only the teaching process of phonetics, vocabulary and grammar, but also the process of spreading culture. Culture has been recognized as an important part of teaching Chinese as a foreign language . At present, the discussion on culture is manly about the elementary level, discussion on culture about intermediate is seldom. This article analyses four textbooks of intermediate Chinese and summarizes the ways that these books introduce the cultural factor and the characteristics of the cultural factor. These four textbooks are: Lower Intermediate(1,2), Intermediate (1,2). In the end, this paper gives suggestions on how to introduce cultural factor in intermediate Chinese textbooks.There are five parts in this paper: Chapter 1 introduces the present situation of cultural factor research, and the present situation of research of cultural factors in intermediate textbooks. Chapter 2 points out the object of study, research objectives and research methods. Chapter 3 categorizes the cultural factors and analysis the statistics. Then summarizes the characteristics of the cultural factors and gives suggestions on the selection of cultural factors. Chapter 4 analyses and summarizes the ways of cultural introduction and gives suggestions on the methods of introducing cultural factors. Chapter 5 goes to a conclusion. There is a list of cultural items in the four books for reference.
