Chinese Course (Amendment), "Road To Success" (First) Comparative Study

Textbooks play a vital role in foreign language in the whole teaching and learning activities. It is a manifestation of the overall design of teaching, and it is a basis for classroom teaching too. So the textbooks directly affect the quality and efficiency of teaching. Comprehensive Course is the main course which comprehensive training in various special skills. Especially in the initial stage, textbooks play a more important role in stimulating the interest in learning and mastery the basics of the language for learners."A Course in Chinese"(Revised version) and the "Road to success"(Primary Chinese) are elementary Chinese textbook that published by Beijing Language University Press. But because the two sets of textbooks have larger the distance in Publication date, the difference between the two sets of Textbooks is also relatively large. The paper discussed on the differences between the two sets of textbook which is widely used and which is newly published, this paper discussed if there is any developments in philosophy in "Road to success"(Primary Chinese). This paper also discussed the successes and shortcomings of the two sets of textbook. We hope that the paper can have an inspiration for the preparation of the future foreign language teaching materials for the learners of Chinese.
