Research On Early Modernization Of Harbin In 1898-1931

The modernization of Harbin can be divided into three stages: early modernization,middle modernization and late modernization. Early modernization in Harbin is fromthe build the East Railway in 1898 to the September Incident in 1931 in whicheconomic,political,cultural,education and social life happened huge changes.It's the important part of China's modernization and play an important role.My research will based on historical materialism and dialectical materialism.Collecting and analyzing materials. Using complexity science theory, systematize theprocess of early modernization in Harbin by the means of documentation, historyreview, logical analysis are the main research methods.Harbin was a traditional community and lie in the traditional society for alongtime.It didn't appear modernization driving itself. In the year of 1898, The Russiaforced to build the Middle East railway which opened the process of earlymodernization in Harbin. Then opening port and keeping immigration brought thevitality for the development of early modernization in Harbin.The early modernization in Harbin includes the development of economy, politicalcultural, urbanization and social lives. They all transformed from tradition tomodernization. It is not only an important part of China's modernization, but also animportant role for the development of China's modernization. And it developed into aninternational metropolis which has a strong demonstration for the other cities.The early modernization of Harbin is slow late and induced by the external forcewhich with colonial color. This process reflected the two-edged sex of colonialism. Therevelation of Harbin's early modernization is that the modernization is thecomprehensive balance system engineering which is need the coordination developmentof each level.Also,we should pay attention to that the independent innovation and thecreative conversion of foreign civilization are both modernization thought and thesustainable development of modernization.The innovation of this research is summarize historical materials and explore thestudy area which is ignored by academia. Systematize interpret and make newinterpretation to the characteristics of foreign trap modernization and the function ofcolonialism. My research can make the scattered research result more integrity and willencich the research achievements of modernization.
