With the construction of the Chinese Eastern Railway in 1896,Harbin city was established and developed.Because of its superior geographical location,Harbin became a population center and commodity distribution.Immigrants from various countries started a large number of light industrial enterprises in Harbin.In particular,the food industry has developed rapidly.This thesis discusses the development of Harbin food industry in three parts.The first chapter mainly discusses the establishment of the Chinese Eastern Railway and Harbin city,the development of light industry and the preliminary establishment of Harbin food industry before the Russo-Japanese War.The second chapter focuses on the development of flour processing industry,oil making industry and brewing industry after the Russo-Japanese War.The third chapter analyzes the reasons and characteristics of promoting the development of Harbin light industry,which is mainly food industry.The construction of Chinese Eastern Railway,the complexity of international relations in the Far East and the decline of Qing government are important factors for the development of Harbin city and light industry.The development of Harbin light industry is characterized by stages,with foreign capital taking the leading position and the development of light industry promoting the common prosperity of commerce. |
