In the Japanese modern literature, Shiganaoya was a writer who lived through three periods i.e. Meiji, Taisho, Showa. He was the representative author of the literary genre of the "White Birch School". With repeatedly refined and concise style, as his describing like "There is no article in vain", he was called as "The God of Novel" by many Meiji, Taisho, Showa authors.Shiganaoya wrote more than two hundred works all his life. Basically, most of these works were short stories. While, "Anyakoro", was the only long fiction of Shiganaoya's works. Therefore, to study the works of Shiganaoya, researching "Anyakoro" is necessary. For he spent 25 years to finish it, "Anyakoro" reflected characteristics of his work through his life. There were many studies about "Anyakoro", including researches of the writer's view of women. However, there is no study about the image of women by researching "Anyakoro". This paper is focusing on the "Anyakoro" to research Shiganaoya's image of women and changes of it.There are three chapters in this paper. The introduction of this paper is to introduce the research in advance, the purpose and significance.Chapter I:By analyzing the background of Shiganaoya's family and ideology, to research the forming background of his literature. ChapterⅡ:This part is to introduce the background and the composition of "Anyakoro". ChapterⅢ:By analysing the major female characters of "Anyakoro", mother Arong and Naoko, to describe the image of women of the author's own.ChapterⅣ:Analysis the image of women in Shiganaoya's other works. ChapterⅤ:The discussion of the changes about Shiganaoya's image of women.Conclusion:Through "Anyakoro", Shiganaoya trying to describe as Naoko that features images of women, but failed. In the end of this work, the image of Naoko, became maternity. From image of Naoko, can read the ideas of the author produced a subtle change, but this change also just in an instant disappeared. Shiganaoya through "Anyakoro" to express, systemic love to save his inclusive themselves maternity. Through "Anyakoro", in appear women-mother, Oei, Naoko three characters to seek depictions of maternal love.
