Tourism Spatial Function Zoning Theories And Methods Of Preliminary Studies

Traditional point-like management has posed some problems to the tourism development such as resources destroy, attractions duplication, disorder development, poor efficiency, etc. So region management of integrated multi-factor is ready to come out. Basing on GIS technology, functional divisions of tourism space is the only way to region management under the inspiration of the principle functional divisions.Functional divisions of tourism space has not appeared in previous studies, but researched a lot in some related fields. The paper sort out relevant studies of the home and abroad on division and tourism-related division. Then it elaborate the theories of functional divisions of tourism space including Theory of regional differences, Sustainable Development, Theory of regional spatial structure, "Anti-planning" theory. Based on the analysis of the concept of division and tourism division, this paper defines the content of functional divisions of tourism space from its concept and purpose, types of functional divisions, the differences with other tourism-related division. It also point out that functional divisions of tourism space possesses the characteristics of full coverage of space, highlight of main features, concordance and dynamic, which can play to alleviate the ecological stress, strengthen the governance of regional space tourism, formulate tourism development order.The method is the biggest highlight of Functional divisions of tourism space, showed in three aspects. First, the basic unit of functional division of tourism space is no administrative unit. It which has the same or similar geographical environment is obtained by useing overlay analysis and merger analysis on the natural, economic, social and other factors. Second, this paper sets evaluation system of functional division of tourism space from the perspective of economic development potential of tourism. The factors are divided into homogenous factors and diffusion factors according to factor's sphere of influence and radiation. The raw data of the homogenous factors come from statistics and results of the existing divisions, because these factors only work on specific region. The radiation of the diffusion factors follows the principle of distance decay, so this paper indirectly calculate the score and the extent through accessibility technology. This method makes up weakness that previous studies on division give the homogeneous mark to the affection of the traffic node, towns, attractions and other diffusion factors. Third, natural reserve is directly classified as moderate development area in "Anti-planning" theory, which embodies the concept of tourism sustainable development. The development potential score of each basic unit is obtained by the weighted sum method of multi-index based on GIS technology and overlay analysis. JENKS fracture method sorts these score to four fractures:core development areas, key development areas, moderate development areas and potential mining areas. This is the zoning method of Functional areas of tourism space sort.As a demonstration of functional divisions of tourism space, Changshu is divided four functional areas. Four areas show the layout of circle structure whose center is town. Core development areas contain the scene of yushan and shanghu, fangta park, memorial hall of Weng hetong, kuncheng lake,Shajiabang, dress super markets and so on. Finally, according to the result, the paper puts forward into many development suggestions of tourism, such as region collaboration, formulating different development strategy, establishing development order, building the ecological environment and living environment.
