Space Signage System From The Semiotic Perspective

Space is always an important element of human society, whether in the primitive society when human have just appeared, or today when human have a high developing civilization.With the growing of space complexity and the increasing of space function, space signage system is becoming more and more important in the construction of space. Space signage system can present the space clearly to the.users, and it is also a strong expression of space image; In addition, for space, space signage system is also an important construction element. It will be a new field of vision and a creative activity to analyze space signage system from physical symbols and the perspective of semiology.This thesis includes five chapters in total.Chapter 1 is introduction, which is divided into two parts. The first part introduces research results of space signage system, and analyzes the problems in the researches. The second part introduces the innovation of this paper, which is based on physical symbols and the semiotic perspective.Chapter 2 is divided into three parts. First the meaning and the rules of space signage system are given. Second the problems in the researches are analyzed from the semiotic perspective. Then the paper expounds that analyzing the space signage system by semeiology is more appropriate than linguistics.Chapter 3 is the center of this thesis. First the paper watches the space signage system form the view of physical symbols. Then the paper analyzes space signage system from the perspective of double references. Last that space signage system is also an important construction element of space is analyzed.Chapter 4 is the suggestions about the space signage of university campus. The thesis applies the summary above to the space of university campuses.Chapter 5 is the conclusion. It gets the summary from the above four parts.
