Study On The Disyllable Coordinator Compound Word In Modern Chinese

This thesis is special on the lexicology in Modern Chinese dictionary (the fifth edition).It mainly studies the amount and character of the disyllable and coordinator compound word based on the previous studies. It included structure,morpheme sequence,metonymy and compound mechanism of the disyllable and coordinator compound word.By discussing these content we can prepare the basic language database for next studying that prescribes the character of the disyllable and coordinator compound word and explain the emergence and development of it.The main text is divided into four chapters:In Chapter 1, we discussed the structure of the disyllable and coordinator compound word from its external structure feature and internal structure feature. The external structure included grammar,tone and meaning. If we analyzed it from the grammar structure, we can find there are 26 compound ways in the disyllable and coordinator compound word.If from the tone structure,there are 20 tone compound ways. If from meaning structure, we can find there are some special disyllable and coordinator compound word, contained "usual morpheme +unusual morpheme" and the two morpheme with the same meaning. The internal structure studied the deep grammatical feature and the semantic feature. There are 11 kinds compound word from 26 compound content by 57 ways if analyzed from the grammatical feature. The deep semantic structure means that there are two morpheme compound in different morpheme meaning, there are 9 kinds compound structure, including "original sense+original sense","original sense +extended meaning","original sense+figurative sense","extended meaning +extended meaning","extended meaning+ original sense","extended meaning+ figurative sense","figurative sense+ figurative sense","figurative sense+ original sense","original sense+ extended meaning.'In Chapter 2,we discussed the morpheme sequence of the disyllable and coordinator compound word. According to the sequence of morpheme can be interchange, the morpheme sequence can divided into "inverted sequence and synonymy"," inverted sequence and different meaning" and "not inverted sequence". Then we discussed the factors which influenced the morpheme sequence is voice. It means the sequence of tone decided the morpheme sequence. But some times the meaning factor is the most important factor, and the grammar factor influence lest.In Chapter 3,we analyzed the metonymy phenomenon of the disyllable and coordinator compound word. In witch there are 489 words have changed by 20 different ways. The motivation of metonymy included two factors, the increase of new concept and the principle of language economy, and language refinement development. The process of shifting words is from "root" to "root+morphosis", to the "Shifting words". The faction of the disyllable and coordinator compound word is different from the general compound words composed with similar morpheme.In Chapter 4, we summarized the coordinate mechanism of the disyllable and coordinator compound word, which included five aspects. The first, in general, a morpheme with fixed usage has a surface morpheme feature and a deep morpheme feature. The second, in special conditions, a morpheme used provisionally and flexible has a surface morpheme feature and two deep morpheme features. The third, combined fixed morpheme and fixed morpheme can shape the same type coordinator compound word.The fourth, combined fixed morpheme and flexible morpheme can shape the different type coordinator compound word. The fifth, the disyllable and coordinator compound word is the deep morpheme feature coordination. The different type coordinator compound word is the same type coordination in deep morpheme feature, but the surface coordination realized must throng decategorization, semantic transformation and deep morpheme feature.
