The Internal Structure Of The Common Double-tone Compound Words In Modern Chinese

Based on the two word lists.The Highly Used 8000 Words and 8000 Words Appearing with the Highest Frequency in the Modern Chinese Frequency Dictionaiy,this paper counts 5241 common double-tone compounds in modern Chinese,and analyzed the composition of these compounds and the characteristics of their constituents from the aspect if morphemes can be word.This paper includes six chapters:The first and sixth chapter are the introduction and conclusion parts.The introduction part defines the research content of this paper,and combs the structure of compounds and the statistical research status of compounds and morphemes.On this basis,we propose our research direction.The conclusions summarize the main conclusions of the paper and issues to be discussed continuously.The second chapter discusses the definition and identification of morphemes and compounds.Especjally,it gives more specific criteria to distinguish word morphemes and non-word morphemes,and briefly describes the factors that influence the judgement of morphemes.The third chapter counts 5241 common Chinese compounds accordins to the corpus.There are 3191 morphemes in these compounds,including 131]word morphemes and 1880 non-word morphemes.There are 1234 compounds which are constituted by "’word morphemes+word morphemes".There are 4007 compounds which are constituted by 4iwords morphemes+non-word morphemes or non-word morphemes＋word morphemes" and "non-word morphemes+non-word morphemes".The fourth chapter analyzes the characteristics of Chinese morphemes,the conditions of morphemes used alone and the influence of multiple meaning of morphemes on constitutins a word.The word morphemes and non-words morphemes of Chinese morphemes are not distinct and some morphemes can be used alone under certain conditions,some morphemes with more meanings have unbalanced conditions of becoming a word,so the combination of morphemes and meanings can help us divide words and phrases.The fifth chapter analyzes the composition of the compound words of the three structures and the influences of function and semantics of the constituents to the compounds.The compounds composed of non-word morpheme are highly lexicalized.In compounds constituted by two word morphemes,word class migration and morpheme meaning abstraction will make the word characteristics of morpheme combination more typical.
