ZhuBian was an important poet of those who were on a diplomatic mission to Jin in the South Song Dynasty. Due to JingKang Calamity, His life can be divided into two periods:Before his mission, he had travelled around DongLi, in XinZheng city; after mission, he was detained by the enemies for sixteen years. He was one of the disciples and son-in-law of the famous scholar ChaoYuezhi, and he had a lot of contract with ChaoYuezhi's relatives, who were all scholars, but on the whole, he was influenced deeply by ChaoYuezhi, not only from thoughts, but also from academic.Firstly, ZhuBian was a upright Confucian, as he has the special experience in Jin country, his loyalist and integrity were extensively praised by the generation following. He was also a Buddhist, he had ever live in temple over ten years, and he made friends with the monks and believed firmly in Buddhist teachings. In old age, he managed Taoist temple, and made a lot of annotations of the classical works of Taoism. Therefore, the three kinds of thoughts all influenced him to varying degrees, but comparatively speaking, the Confucianism of ZhuBian was the most conspicuous. The works of Zhu also can be classed into two types according to his life periods:one recalled the happy life in DongLi before his mission. His novel QuWeiJiuWen and his notes on poem and poetry FengYueTangShiHua were representatives. This two works more or less had an influenced by ChaoYuezhi, following and changing happened at the same time. ZhuBian had a same political stand with ChaoYuezhi, he had an approval of SiMaGuang, but a disapproval of WangAnshi. For this reason, his views of politics were reflected on the book QuWeiJiuWen. ZhuBian followed ChaoYuezhi's some academic thoughts; for example, he also had a spirit of suspicion and poetic thoughts "ZunGu". Not only that, he proposed his own poetic views, which was "naturally description", his views of poetics were reflected on the book FengYueTangShiHua. The other type was the miserable life in Jin country after his mission. His poems and articles were representatives. His poems mainly expressed his loyalty and love to the emperor and the motherland, and his articles were mainly officialese.Almost of ZhuBian's works were losing, his remaining works were ignored for along time either. As an important poet in the beginning of Jin dynasty, ZhuBian promoted the process of SuXue-spreading in Jin country. His poetic thoughts had shown the poets in the beginning of Jin the way of how to make poems, therefore, ZhuBian's influence existed throughout Jin dynasty.
