Development Of Scale Of Junior School Students' Willpower

It's important to educate the junior school students'willpower. However, few studies involve this field. The main reason is no model can be fit for junior school students'willpower. This study aims to determine the structure of junior school students'willpower.The primary questionnaire contained four components and 74 items which are made by literature review, behavioral event interview and expert statement. It developed by Likert-type scale. The questionnaire was carried out in Chengdu and Huaian, and 2302 questionnaires were collected. Based on analysis, 40 items were retained. The Cronbachαwas 0.82. By the EFA, one more factor was found and these factors accounted for 45.29% of the total variance.The formal questionnaire was carried out in Beijing, and 1200 questionnaires were collected. The result of CFA showed the five factor model came up to test standard. Following results are obtained:(1) The internal structure of junior school students'willpower has five components: consistency, determination, independency, consciousness and self-control.(2) Item discriminance and internal coherence were proved good. The goodness of five-factor model fit index shows that the model can be accepted. And there's good content validity construct validity.
