| Suffering can show the essence of life attribute, and focusing on the suffering is human's eternal topic. Literature on the misery narration can produce high aesthetic value. By misery narration writers usually consider about the causes of suffering, show the pain of suffering, and then explore the solutions to the suffering. In fact, the misery narration is a process of searching for salvation. Because of the misery narration's redemptive significance, it has become one of the important motifs of literature. This article tries to explore the nature of the misery narration novels of Wang Meng from a historical perspective, and analyze the causes the changes happened during the fifty years of creative process.Wang Meng is an important writer on Chinese Contemporary Literature, who is of great representative significance, so selecting the misery narration of his novel as the research object also has distinguished representation. At the present stage, systematic study on the novel of the misery narration is much less than imagined, existing research on the subject is widely scattered in certain chapters of research results on other topics and of which lack of comments made from the linguistic point of view. And this is where the innovation of this paper lies. In the"Season"series, Wang Meng showed objectively and clearly the sufferings of the Chinese intellectuals during the three decades after the founding of the People's Republic. In his writing, suffering is no longer a hallowed power, but rather a kind of revolutionary ideal and existence of life expressed by way of "Reversal-type" language , a self-examination process by carrier of political sufferings ,of which has strong criticism and skepticism. The qualities of the misery narration novels are gradually formed in the creation process during the fifty years and have changed a lot , from the optimistic to the objective, from the hallowed to the profane, from the ideal to the experienced. Hidden behind these changes are the profound social and cultural contexts which have been intentionally or unintentionally ignored in the current study process, including the Chinese intellectual's understanding of the changes of idealism, the spiritual awakening of the Chinese writers and other highlights of the paradox of modernity.
