Hichiriki is one of the double-reed and vertical wind instruments in Ancient China. It has been brought back in Southern and Northern Dynasties, and has been flourished during Sui and Tang Dynasty, and transmit to other east Asian countries. Especially in Japan and Korea, the incoming of Hichiriki, happened in different times, and played an important role in the development of their own music.The thesis is trying to do research on inheritance and changes during the development of Hichiriki in Japan and Korea, and focus on the receiving of Chinese culture in music, on the basis of arrangement of the music history in china. There are three chapters in this thesis. The first one is the development process of Hichiriki in china. The second one is the transmission and acceptance of Hichiriki in East Asia. The third, the culture of these three countries after the incoming of Hichiriki.The thesis based on the historical bibliography of China, Japan, Korea. By the comparison of species, shape, form and applications in China, Japan and Korea, we will explore exchanges of Hichiriki in the cultural hybrid.
