International promotion of Chinese is a relatively new research topic and there are some results only in recent years. On the international promotion of Japanese, there are some research results about its history, current situation and mode of social infrastructure. The comparative study of Japanese and Chinese international promotion is very beneficial to the international promotion of Chinese. However, in existing studies, there are mostly the cases of Japanese international promotion described, and many researchers discuss it from the aspects of the macro concept, whereas a comprehensively deep comparative analysis is rare. The paper, based on the existing results and relevant reference to statistical data, compares in detail from the institutions of international language promotion, teachers, models, etc. analyzing the problems of the international promotion of Chinese and exploring solutions to these problems, so that it will provide some reference for the smooth development of Chinese international promotion. The paper is divided into four chapters:Introduction introduces the origins and significance of the topic, the review and content, features and methods of the research. So that we understand the value of this topic.The first chapter compares the institutions and functions of the international promotion of Japanese and Chinese. Chinese Ministry of Education organizes China National Office of Chinese International Language Council (Hanban), and establishes Confucius Institutes to work as the organizations of international language promotion. Japanese international promotion institutions are mainly composed of the main central administrative body, administrative institutions, public legal institutions, etc.The second chapter deals with the comparison of teacher training, teacher certification and teacher scale in international promotion of Chinese and Japanese.The third chapter deals with the comparison of language models in international promotion of Chinese and Japanese. Japanese international promotion is protected by policies and regulations. And there are multi-institutional collaborations sending teachers to overseas, which is the main task of them. Chinese international promotion is presided over by Hanban, based on the position the Confucius Institutes, supported by the government, which actively participates.The fourth chapter, based on statistical data on the number of people learning Chinese and Japanese, compares the scale of international promotion in the two languages. The conclusion part sums up the differences between the international promotion of Japanese and Chinese, analyzes the problems with Chinese international promotion, explore solutions to these problems, and propose features and shortcomings of this article.
