A Study Of Dunhuang Bien-wen Aesthetic Culture

Bien-wen , as a part of Dunhuangnology, has its researching value of significance. The authors focus their attention on its documental and historical achievements .However, its aesthetic ones aren't paid enough attention to . As a matter of fact, the values of Bien-wen lie in multiple respects. This dissertation is to study Bien-wen based on the documental carding and from the point of aesthetic cultures on the whole. To be exact, according to the research of concept of Bien-wen, considering that Bien-wen was converted from classic literature and elegant scripture. This convention is not only just a change of literary style but also a transformation to esthetic standards as well. Investigating the time of the creation, the convention was popular during the end of Tang and the Five Dynasties, which had been a close relation to the open and freedom of Tang dynasty, the social and cultural backgrounds of compatibility and, the particular environment of its relative stability; from the status of the creative main perspective, most of them came from the folk that lacked in high levels of cultural accomplishment and cultivation. Therefore, Bien-wen was a sort of Rap style combined rhyme with essay , and was prevalent among the people in Tang and Dynasties, which integrated excellent form and beautiful substance, show human power nature of object-oriented and has aesthetic features and aesthetic function.Three chapters consisted of this thesis ,in addition to outside introduction. In the first chapter, the author outlined Bien-wen and its document, including how discovered Bien-wen and what has academic significance, redefining the Bien-wen concept and overviewing its creation, which mainly explained basic theories and methods of bibliography. The second chater discussed aesthetic changes which concealed the back of process from"transforming"to"Bien-wen".This chapter put emphasiss contents on differemes and similarities by comparing traditiong and eligant article whith Bien-wen, summarized its aesthtic interest,aesthetic ideal and what relationship to the social and cultural background in that period. The artistic beauty is arranged in three chapter, which comprise sonorous rhythm,vivid images and implicit meaning. Sonorous rhythm, speaking on the language level, includes rhythm,tonal quality and rhythem sound etc. Generalizing the figure types in the Bien-wen is belonged to image level, and not only has famale images but also male and monk images.Philosophic contents is the most deep aesthetic in this paper, in this bart, which reseach its idea hided in the Bien-wen behind, further show its aesthetic meanings and aesthetic value. Therefore. Form the aspects of form, Bien-wen has charming language comprising prose and verse, music and rock; From the point of contents, it has been endued beauty of vivid image and Confucian-Buddhist implications.
