| Objective:(1) Through an investigation of the penile development status of full-term male infants in the city of Kunming, reference values of infant penis size applicable for clinical purposes have been obtained. Furthermore, though the observation of the Kunming infant foreskin shape, the status of the occurrence of redundant prepuce and phimosis in this region has been studied, which is also an early investigation of promoting infant circumcision.(2) To study the parents'willingness of accepting infant circumcision and influencing factors and to provide a scientific basis for promoting infant circumcision.Methods:(1) Direct measurements of the penis length and diameter of0-3years old male infants without penile deformity, non-erected state of the penis length and diameter. Observe the foreskin shape and the degree of unfolding. The shape of the foreskin can be divided into phimosis and redundant prepuce. Phimosis:the prepuce cannot be unfold at all and the external urethral orifice cannot be revealed; Redundant Prepuce:the prepuce completely covers the glans and urethra, but glans can be revealed. The degree of redundant prepuce can be divided into three levels. Level I: only outside the mouth of urethral can be revealed; Level II:part of the glans can be exposed, the adhesion area of the prepuce and glans is about1/3-2/3of the glans area; Level III:glans is completely exposed and there is no adhesion between glans and prepuce. In this study, infant are divided into four groups for statistical analysis.(2) From March to May of2012through cluster sampling, a survey of willingness of accepting infant circumcision and associated influencing factor was carried out with443parents who took children to the prevention care division, pediatric clinic of the First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University.Results:(1) For full-term male newborns:penis diameter is11.6±0.87mm, penis length is27.3±3.75mm; For1-12month infants:penis diameter is12.6±0.82mm, the penis length is32.6±3.74mm; For1-2years old, penis diameter is13.3±1.27mm, penis length is34.5±6.37mm; For2-3years old, penis diameter is14.7±0.57mm, penis length is36.2±5.77mm. The phimosis incidence rate is89.15%for full-term newborns,75.86%for the1-12months old infants,28.44%for the1-2years old and35.45%for the2-3years old. All four age groups prepuce is all too long and the incidence rates of completely unfoldable prepuce are0%,3.45%,7.27%and11.76%for the four age groups.(2) The acceptance rate of circumcision by parents is53.1%. However, the acceptance rate of infant circumcision is only20.4%. The different professional and cultural degree of parents accept rate comparing statistical significance (P<0.05). The survey shows that the following factors influence the willingness of accepting circumcision by the parents:prevention of genital inflammation or tumor (about67%), be helpful for health (about63%), and benefit to penile development (about50%), whether father had circumcision (about73.5%), concerns of post-operative care and complications (63.4%) is the effect of parents to son Aries considerably from country to cut method to accept the main factor.Conclusions:(1) Through the measurement and observation, and found that male infant penis length, diameter of reference value and a high incidence rate of phimosis in infant has been observed. All the observed infants has redundant prepuce and for the vast majority of them, the prepuce cannot be completely unfold.(2) The willingness of accepting infant circumcision by parents in Kunming is low, should strengthen infant circumcision related knowledge propaganda, enhance the understanding of the parents of the reproductive health and to promote infant circumcision in China. |
