OrientalPaperbush flowers are the bud of Edgeworthia chrysantha Lindl, Which is belong to Edgeworthia Meisn of Thymelaeaceae family, It has the effect of yin-nourishing, improving eyesight and removingYi Zhang, it can be used to treat Qingmang, Yi Zhang, tears, nocturnal emissions, virtual shower and the loss of the voice.This paper is mainly chemical composition of the qualitative analysis of Edgeworthia chrysantha Lindl through using the tube method and the filter paper method, namely, Edgeworthia chrysantha Lindl contains the Essential Oil, saponin,carbohydrates, phenolic constituents,flavonoids,organic acid,coumarines,cardiac glycoside,and triterpenoid saponins and steroidal saponins and such like by qualitative analysis.In this paper, these constituents were separated and purified with chromatographic methods and their structures were identified by1H-NMR and13C-NMR spectroscopy and chemical analyses, combined with the related literature reports, six compounds have been isolated from Edgeworthia chrysantha Lindl.as follows:daphnoretn(4), Edgeworicacid Ethyl(5), β-sitosterol(1), Phthalate bis (2-methyl-heptyl) ester or phthalate Dioctyl(2). Dibutyl phthalate(3)and Kaempferol-3-O-β-D-gluc-opyranoside or Astragalin(6), compound5,2and3were isolated from this plant for the first time.Rutin was used as reference substance,and sodium nitrite-aluminum as the color reagent, the ultraviolet spectrophotometry was established to determine the content of total flavonoe in Edgeworthia chrysantha Lindl, and the content of total flavone was taken as the evaluating indicator, the influence to extraction factors such as the ethanol concentration,the liquid-soild rate, the time and temperature of the extraction are investigated,Through L9(34) the orthogonal experiment design,we comfirmed the optimum conditions was60%ethylaleohol,the ratio of liquid to solid was1:25, extraction time was120min, extraction temperature was70℃.
