Expressions And Significances Of P16 And P53 Protein In Liposarcoma

Objective to detect the expressions of p16 and p53 protein in liposarcoma in order to investigate their significances.Method we used 35 cases of liposarcoma,in which 15 cases were well-differentiated/atypical liposarcoma,12 cases were myxoid/round cell liposarcoma,8 cases were plemomorphic liposarcoma, we also used 35 cases of normal adipose tissue and 35 cases of lipoma as control groups. All the cases were insured by pathological diagnosis.we used liposarcoma,adipose tissue and lipoma to make the specimen,then we used the SP immunohistochemistry to detect the expressions of p16 and p53 protein.Results The positive rates of p16 protein in liposarcoma,adipose tissue and lipoma were 45.7%,100% and 100%,while the positive rates of p53 protein were 42.9%,0% and 0%,there were significant differences between liposarcoma and the left two kinds of tissue (P<0.05),we also found that p16 protein was related to p53 protein.The positive rates of p16 protein in well-differentiated/atypical liposarcon,myxoid/round cell liposarcoma,plemomorphic liposarcoma were 73.3%(11/15), 33.3%(4/12),12.5%(1/8) respectively,while the positive rates of p53 protein in well-differentiated/atypical liposarcoma,myxoid/round cell liposarcoma,plemomorphic liposarcoma were 26.7%(4/15),41.7%(5/12),75.00%(6/8).As the degrees of the differentiation were lower in liposarcoma, the expressions of p16 protein were lower,while the expressions of p53 protein were higher.Conclusion Both p16 and p53 are related to the occurrence of liposarcoma.As the degrees of the differentiation become lower in liposarcoma, the expressions of p16 protein are lower,while the expressions of p53 protein are higher.
